Sometimes people fear that life stops being fulfilling when they enter a nursing home. Perhaps you're worried that your loved one won't make friends or have anything to do. And, if you're like most, you may have some preconceived notions of what you'll find in a nursing home. Well, we're not just "any" nursing home, and we work hard to make this a special place for all of our residents and families.
Here a few of our residents' favorite things to do:

Each year, we host several events that are designed to bring together residents, staff, families, and the community. Included in these free events are a classic car show, live outdoor entertainment (big-time wrestling has been a big favorite), a pig roast, children's games, and an antique appraisal event. Several hundred people usually attend to help make this a fun, exciting, and lively time for everyone. Visit our Special Events page to learn more.

Sometimes the simple routines of life like folding towels, baking muffins, getting the mail, or growing a garden can make a person feel like themselves again. Here, we encourage residents to participate in the routines of daily life that help make our facility feel more like a home.

Everyone needs a change of scenery once in a while. Our residents love excursions to local restaurants, shopping, church services, fishing, and other destinations that residents like to attend. They also like more exciting venues like Detroit Tigers games at Comerica Park, casinos in Detroit and Canada, and lunch and shopping excursions to Frankenmuth. We make it a practice to do something at least once a week, weather permitting. To transport residents, we provide a 15-passenger, lift-gate bus that helps get a good-sized crowd of people to each attraction in comfort.
If you would like to see a complete list of what we do, please feel free to ask the Activity Director for a copy of the monthly calendar. Family members and friends are always welcome to come and participate in any of our activities-your family member would love to see you and we would, too.

I want to express my gratitude to your staff for their genuine concern and thoughtfulness to my mother-in-law, Fredrika, and myself during [her stay]. From the first day of admissions through the last day of her life, I felt people truly cared about her well-being.
