Careers

When you work in a nursing home, you hope that you'll feel good at the end of the day-that you've been able to make a difference in life of a person in your care.

People who come to work here tend to stay a while. With turnover rates well below the national average, MediLodge is a place where you'll get to know your co-workers and probably make a few friends. Here are some ways we try to make the MediLodge environment a great place to work:

Employee Benefits
MediLodge of St. Clair offers a comprehensive benefits package that employees can customize to their individual and family needs. Here's a summary of the benefits we provide:

Medical and Dental – We provide a comprehensive, cafeteria-style benefits package that includes Blue Cross/Blue Shield. We also contribute $300 toward your benefits purchase to help offset your total benefits cost.
Life Insurance
Paid Holidays – We provide eight paid holidays with holiday pay for employees who work these days.
Paid Time Off – We provide five days off after the first year of service, increasing to 10 days after two years of service and thereafter.
Pension – After one year of employment, employees receive a monthly deposit into their 401(k) plans.
Tuition Reimbursement – After one year of employment, MediLodge offers tuition reimbursement for allied health degree programs.

Work Hours

We run three shifts per day: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m., and 11:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. There's a half-hour overlap to ensure that important issues get communicated.

Staffing Levels
Our staffing levels exceed state minimums and our resident-to-nurse ratio is lower than average. We keep it that way so that we can give the highest quality of care possible.

Philosophy
We are a quality facility and we expect only the best from our employees. By joining the MediLodge of St. Clair team, you will be a part of the finest group of nursing homes in the country. Our goal is to give our residents the best care possible.

What it's like to work at MediLodge
At MediLodge of St. Clair, we recognize that delivering quality care requires a lot of hard physical and emotional work. We ask a lot of the people who work here, but we also make a priority of giving back, of appreciating the contributions that everyone makes.

Here are some ways that we help nurture a supportive work environment:

Monthly Employee Meetings – We meet monthly to share ideas and concerns and to keep our working relationships constructive and positive.
Continuing Education – We provide free, in-house continuing education in multiple, monthly in-service sessions. We encourage everyone – at all levels – to attend and grow their knowledge.
Staff Development Activities – We help support and appreciate each other through informal luncheons, pot lucks, and many other activities throughout the year.
